After a season of neglect, this post begins a new season for “View From My Window.” As
Common Ground Conciliation Service moves toward a newsletter format, I am
keeping the blog for another purpose. I
hope you still visit Common Ground’s website (http://www.commongroundcs.org/) and let me know if you want to
receive newsletters.
And now I want to tell you about my business venture and this blog’s new purpose.
A new key on my key ring opens the door to Dot Cottage.
Francis the shop cat seems to think we are building it for
her but we’re not. Most people who see
it assume that we are building it for me to live in but that’s not true
either. We are building the tiny house
for you!
Dot Cottage grew this year with the help of my family.
Visitors to Stoneybrook Farm often remark on the peaceful
atmosphere; an oasis in the midst of Southern Idaho’s desert. So I started dreaming about how we could
share this beautiful spot with others who need rest, space for reflection,
inspiration for creativity… And the idea of Dot Cottage was born.
I’m still painting and putting in finishing touches but here
is the essence of what is coming. When everything is finished you can reserve
Dot Cottage for short stays on this busy working farm. Walk the rose garden paths. Sit under the
trees my great grandparents planted.
Come with me to pick vegetables from our family’s garden and green
house. Prepare and eat what you harvest
in Dot Cottage’s full, though tiny, kitchen.
Dot Cottage’s compact 133 square feet offer privacy and comfort.
Come
rest, reflect,
and
create!
I’ll keep you posted on the progress so stay tuned for details!
